The Defense Logistics Agency Energy workforce contributed approximately $83, 695 to the Combine Federal Campaign in 2012.
“The amount raised this year exceeds last year’s total by more than $10,000.” said Army Capt. Dehaven Pollard, a DLA Energy Operations Center watch officer who serves as DLA Energy CFC coordinator for the 2012 campaign. “I can’t say enough about the role our keyworkers played in reaching out and making face-to-face contact with their fellow workers during this campaign.”
The annual CFC campaign is the only charity authorized for the federal workplace and gives employees the chance to support more than 4,000 charities, which range from local support groups to international organizations and span such interests as art, culture, education, environment, health, medicine, food, agriculture, civil rights and community improvement.
“This is my first CFC drive, and I couldn’t be prouder of the giving spirit of our workforce,” said DLA Energy Commander Air Force Brig. Gen. Giovanni Tuck. “I want to say thanks to the DLA Energy workforce for taking this on and making it a success.”
By surpassing 69 percent of this year’s goal, DLA Energy qualifies for a CFC Merit Award, Pollard said.
Donations can still be submitted online at www.cfcnca.org, the CFC Capital National Area’s website, until Jan. 15.
